Census

The 1821-1851 census returns were almost destroyed in a fire, the 1861-1891 census returns were destroyed by the Government. The 1901-1911 census returns are available on line free of charge on line on the National Archives of Ireland website.

Killimer County Clare.

Killimer is a village in County Clare, Ireland. Killimer is located at the northern banks of the Shannon and the Killimer is best known for the ferry Killmer-Tarbert. The ferry is operated by Shannon Ferries.

The parish counted 3023 inhabitants in 1837 and in the 2006 Cesus returned 482 inhabitants.

To the East of the village is the coal-fired electricity generation station Moneypoint power station.
