Hello, I'm hoping to get in touch with anyone else descended from the Anglim families living in and around Shyan/Sheeaun in the 1800s.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Not sure what info you have from the past but below is a link to the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilmihil parish which shows a few Anglum records. There were also three Anglim households in the 1901 census for Sheeaun. I also checked the online Irish phone book and there are two Anglim entries in the area. Sheeaun is not spelled the same but I think it the correct area. http://www.eirphonebook.ie/   Our privacy rules prevent us from providing the information directly but you can go in and do a search. Make sure you use the Residential Tab. I would then call or mail a letter.

  • Hi Grant,

There is a complete family history of the Anglim family online. It is called Anglim Odysseys(an Anglim Family history) by Christopher Anglim. He is a researcher in Washington DC in the USA. My great grandparents are from the Tipperary line who immigrated to San Francisco in the 1890's. He has a chapter on Anglim from Kilmihil, County Clare. So goggle search: An Anglim Family History Limerick. It is a large document. Your family hopefully be there. Good luck.

  • Thanks Bob, I've been in contact with Chris Anglim and he has some great material relating to the Anglim families in Shyan from the mid 1800s onward. I am now trying to establish the relationship between earlier Anglims in the area that come up on tithe applotment lists, flax growers lists, and petty court records.
