My gr gr grandparents, Michael ROUGHAN and Elizabeth DOLAN, married in the Parish of Parteen 27 Nov 1832. Witnesses were Michael LAUGHLIN and Geoffrey DOLAN (a brother who later married Anne TORMY in Co. Westmeath). No residence was given for anyone. The first child of Michael and Elizabeth was Mary ROUGHAN baptized 6 Nov 1833 in the Parish of Parteen. Residence stated as Cratloe. Other children, Martin 1835, Patrick 1840 , Bridget 1841, John 1844, Eliza 1846 and Ann 1852 were also baptized in the Parish of Parteen. Residence for these children stated as Derra. The family began immigrating to Chicago, Illinois in the mid 1860's, the last being Michael and Elizabeth in 1874. Judith Mason b. Chicago, IL - currently living in Portsmouth ,VA

Margaret, daughter of my gr grandfather John Roughan (Rohen in US) - see Aug 2016 post above - married James M. Mason in Chicago 1896. With this post, I hope to determine the relationship of my gr gr grandfather, James Mason b.c.1810 Parteen m. Bridget Hayes b.c.1810 Cloonaughter to Mason families residing in the townlands of O'Shea Acres, Woodfield, Kiladerry/O'Brien. Family history has my Mason line in Co. Clare, specifically Parteen mid 1700's.

Patrick Mason (1856-1923) son of Patrick Mason & Margaret (Norry?) Hogan of BallyKelly. Baptismal sponsors John Mason & Ellen Daly of Woodfield. This Patrick m. 1887 to Phebe Houlihan of Doonas. Residence Woodfield 1901 & 1911 census. Their children John b.1882 (possibly m.1923 to Catherine Hourigan daughter of William Hourigan of Corbally), Michael b.1891, Patrick b.1892-93 (possibly m.1928 to Margaret O'Connor, daughter of James O'Connor, of Clonlara).
Michael Mason b.1845 brother to Patrick above. No further information.
James Mason of Sheaun -1911 Petty Session Court - charged with driving an unlighted horse and cart in O'Shea's Acres. I mention this record because some of my Mason's left Parteen to obrain farms in Sheaun.
