Hugh and wife Honora Hagerty left the Constabulary employment, went to Canada; we don't know why they chose Wolfe Island in the St Lawrence River at the mouth of Lake Ontario. He became a farmer and had a half dozen kids. Hugh was b about 1810 maybe.

I was led to Durrus and Kilcrohane (both Cork) by his brother CHarles who came after Hugh to AMerica, I think, settling in Lowell, Massachusetts (MA) and later in Lynn, MA. Charles posted his search for Hugh  in The Boston Pilot, which is now in book form. He was looking for his brother Hugh of Wolfe Island, wondering if he was still there. He was. I don't know if they connected or not.  Even when CHarles was working, he was listed in census records as "blind" which remained the same after he stopped working. So far I know he lived past 70 yrs old.

I have not figured out yet where Charles, his wife Catherine or their daughter Catherine went from Lynn. I am still searching. I don't know if Charles and Catherine had only the one daughter, or more children.  One child in a catholic family, especially back then?  Kind of unheard of...  The Lynn MA local records are not the greatest. I have no idea when Charles came to Boston.  Did he bring a wife with him or find her here?  Their daughter was born in Lowell, MA which was a couple of hours went of Lynn where they were in 1870.    Hugh and his wife Honora died on Wolfe Island, and I may have found their death record and cemetery record. I need to confirm in the near future.

I believe I have all the Wolfe Island children's marriages, etc. Two of the daughters married into the TROY family who were originally for Co Clare.  It is interesting to me that Hugh and Honora had their first baby i Ireland and named him Charles. I wonder if it was for his older brother, or was their dad named Charles? I don't know yet.

Sound familiar to anyone?
