Hello

I'm the 2X great granddaughter of Mary Cotter and Michael Barrett (1879 marriage). Looking for traces of connected relatives on either side. 1901&1911 they resided on Limerick Rd. There are Cotters buried in Molloga cemetery that are related to Mary Cotter in some way. Would love to know more. Cheers & thank you for reading   Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

I have checked  www.rootsireland.com and noticed that Michael and Mary had  3 children , Mary born in 1880, Elizabeth in 1886, and Thomas in 1889 all born in Kildorrery.

Have you tried the free records of www.irishgenealogy.ie?

  • Hi Lisa

Not sure if we gave you this information previously. All we can add to the above reply from Mallow is:

Elizabeth married Bryan O'Connell an upholsterer from Cork. No further information on them.

Mary/Minnie worked at Thornhill's Chemists. Unmarried and buried in Molagga in 1962 with the Cotters.

Thomas died 1955 - 58. Don't know that he is buried with Minnie.

We know that Michael Barrett's father was Thomas and Minnie's father was James. Not sure of any relatives in the locality as

there were many families of Cotters in Scart then. Sorry we cannot be of more help.

  • Hi Lisa

We don't have any information  to add to what we already sent you. However I have been asking around and I am trying to set up a meeting with a 94 yr old gentleman whose mother was Cotter. Will let you know how I get on.

    Regards

    Brenda
