These are my wife's 3rd ggparents.  Believe they were married at St Finbar's in January 1803.

Looking for any info on either.

Thanks Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

    No luck on rootsireland.ie, irishgenealogy.ie or Family Search

    The Nat Library of Ireland has the R C registers freely available and St Finbars has baptisms for 1756 through to 1802.

  • Kevin:

    The www.irishgenealogy.ie site which Col mentioned does have two baptismal records which may be your family. The mother was Margaret Flynn in one record and Mary Flynn on the other record. Cork South parish is St. Finbar's and the parish is still there today on Dunbar St. My wife's paternal ancestors come from the same parish.

  • Hi, thanks for this information it certainly links with what we have.  We believe Patrick Dennehy came to Australia leaving Liverpool UK 17/11/1854 aboard the "Almora" with wife Ellen and son Richard.  Patrick and Ellen subsequently had three other children all born in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

    Hi – looking for information on my wife’s family, the Dennehy’s and Flyn.  Earliest info I have is Cornes Denay who married Margt Flyn at St Finbarr’s South on 15 Jan 1803. Cornes Denahy & Margt Flyn, witnesses: Patk Denahy & Willm Flyn

    I have identified three children;

    Pat Danahy D:O:B 9 Feb 1807; address Brunswick St. Sp: Phil Danahy & Jane Dille.

    (My wife is related Pat Danahy – He arrived Melbourne, Australia aboard "Almora" in February 1855 with his wife Ellen Kearney and son.)

    Jerry Denahy D:O:B 10 Nov 1804; address Collis L, Sps: Jerry Denahy & Hanah Mahony

    Margt Denahy D:O:B 15 Jan 1809: address Barrack St. Sps: Jas Cleary & Ellen O’Brien

    This is an update on a previous post using info provided by Roger and info I have subsequently found on https://www.irishgenealogy.ie

    Would also apprecite in interperting the initials after Flyn and at the end of the line.

    Thanks Kevin
