I have located the birth certificate for my ancestor Mary McCallg (McCaliog) b. 1869 Registered in Mountcharles Co. Donegal with the dwelling place of her parents listed as Drumbeg. How can I go about finding the parish church the family would have attended ? Mary's parents were James McCallig and Bridget  Brazer McCallig- they were married in Inver in 1868. I am visiting in August and would welcome any advice or direction .

Thank you,

Judy

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

What was the religious denomination for the family? The RC records for Inver start around 1860 but I checked Roots Ireland and did not see the record. Here is the RC parish register  http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1017

Also, Drumbeg and Cloverhill (shown on the marriage record) are the same townland in Inver civil parish.

  • The McCallig family was Roman Catholic. Thank you for the link, I will keep searching.
