  • Hi Elizabeth,

Can yuou give us some information regarding your grandmother?  We can't perform any searches without dates or parent's names.

  • Hello Elizabeth,

Go to www.rootsireland.ie and register (free).  You will find the church baptism and the civil birth record on this site.  It will cost you approx €5 for each record, but you can then print them off.

This is the only Mary Crossin that I found with father names John Crossin and mother  ? Hartley.

Mary Anne Crossin   1899 Co. Donegal

I would suggest that you purchase both the records as they will contain slightly different information.  The civil record will hopefully yield an address and parents names and hopefully job description.

The other baptismal record will give god parents' names.

Once you have the parents names, you can then search for their marriage record on this site and trace further back the generations.

    Kind regards,

    Anne Dennehy

  • Hi,

St. Patrick's Church is in Muff area, it is the main church for Muff and Upper Moville.  From Muff village it is about 1.5 miles.  As you leave Muff village (coming from Derry) there is a sign post for Iskaheen, you will pass Sacred Heart Church, Muff on the left.  Go straight uphill for about 1 mile, until you come to a sharp right then left bend, at the top of the hill on right hand side is St. Patrick's Church and graveyards.

I found her in the 1901 Census in Cabry, Q.P. living with her mother (30) and grandmother Elizabeth Crossan (60.)  John must of been working elsewhere.

    All the best.

  • Hello honey123

My grandmothers sister was Cecelia Crossan who married Denis Harley. They lived in Clunelly, Quigleys Point. Cecelias's parents were John Crossan and Mary Hargan. Any connection there do you think? Also how did your visit go and did you find what you were looking for
