I am looking for information on my maternal grandfather Rodrick (Roger) McCaffery ... Father was William McCaffery ... Mother was Ann (Nancy) O'Donnell ... Born August 15th or 18th 1878 or 1884 ... most likely in Raphoe ... he became Franciscan Brother in 1900 and left the order and immigrated to St. John New Brunswick in March 1908 and ultimately to the United States

Hi,
I have been doing some looking for you and found a family of McCaffery's in the Clonleigh area. This is not too far away from Raphoe.
It seems that Ann O'Donnell and William McCaffery had 10 children, Patrick 1886, Bridget 1869, John 1870, Margaret 1871, Rodrick 1873, William 1875, Hugh 1876, Ann 1877, Connell Francis 1885 and Susan 1883.
This is the family in the 1901 Census. It seems that William the father has died as he is not on the census.
