My grandfather, James Patrick Caughey, left County Down with his parents,James & Rose(Liggett) Caughey, sometime between 1876-1884....

I've been unsuccessful in locating what town in County Down my family is from.....

Any help or direction you can point me to, to learn about my family roots would be greatly appreciated.....

    Just to let you know I have a LUCINDA CAUGHEY  brn c. 1805, married ALEXANDER BOYLE  and had 5 known children in Down all baptised between 1830 and 1843 at Ballycopeland Presyterian Church.

    Does Lucinda (lLucy) happen to appear in your family tree? It appears to be an unusual forename and just might be a clue??
