I posted this message in the Tallaght parish also, not knowing which might be correct.

Could you let me know if this parish covers the Ballymount area?

I am looking for any information on the Bard (or Beard) family.
James Beard/Bard was born about 1790 or 1791.  He was in New York City by 1809 when he got married.

I don't know anything else on his family, but his granddaughter wrote a letter in 1925 that said "All I definitely remember is that my Grandfather James Bard was born in Ireland on the Bard estate, "Belmont" - somewhere near Dublin."

Thank you,
Mary Van Dyke

    Welcome back!

Ballymount is in Clondalkin parish. I looked at the Tithe and the Griffiths for that parish and did not see a Bard/Beard record. I also looked at the 1901 census and there is a very large house in Ballymount Little that had 17 rooms. Not sure if that might be the estate. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003692939/

Sorry I could not be more helpful.
