Hello,

I'm looking for any information on the family of Anthony Weldon, married to Mary Carroll in the 1870's, living on Prospect Ave in Glasnevin. Weldon is from Trim, Mary Carroll from Dublin. Their children: Annie, Richard, Mary Jane, Catherine, Bridget and Michael.  Annie left for America 1909. All others stayed, Anthony dying in 1907 I believe.

Any help appreciated, Kate Mulloy

In case you don't have them below are the 1901 and 1911 census records for your family. I also looked for a death index record for Anthony Weldon at www.familysearch.org  I found a record for an Anthony P. Weldon who died in 1901 in the Dublin North registration district but it indicated he was born in 1874. So I ruled it out. I also found an index record in 1910 for an Anthony Weldon born in 1860 which is more likely. You can get a copy of this record by contacting the GRO www.groireland.ie  fill out their form provide the quarter/year of death, registration district ( Dublin North) and the volume and page number ( 2 and 344). Costs around 4 euros.

  • Thank you again, Roger. I have seen those census reports and know it is the right family on Prospect Ave.  I'm wondering about the death in 1910--perhaps the birthday of off by 5 years, either in the census or on the death notice.  I'll check into it.  It seems the son, Richard, was sometimes aka Anthony--at least according to the prisoner records on that search!

It's all so interesting to me.

Thanks so much for your help.
