Simon Farrell born in 1821 emigrated to the states about 1868 with his three children,Bridget born 1855 Ireland, Thomas 1858 Ireland and Mary born 1862 Ireland, leaving his deceased wife buried in Ireland.He traveled with his unmarried sister Julia. (Julia born abt 1822) And we believe that another sister Adelia (born abt 1835) also traveled with them (in any event she settled in the same area)
They joined siblings already settled in the states, the following siblings listed below arrived either between 1847 and 1854 and are found by 1856 in the states. They first settled in New Jersey before migrating west. to Nebraska and Kansas.

Mary, the baby was born in Killiney, Dublin in 1842. She did not travel with Simon.
We do not have the parents names. We have Dublin listed as their location of birthfor many of the men with Mary's history stating Killiney, Dublin. Simon's written history states...in a little township of Kildore, Dublin, Ireland. Wheather this is correct or not is how it was written down for Simon. The family kept in touch and wrote for the family to join them. An article states that Simon and sister left parents behind in Ireland.
I would be interested in any history of these Farrell's. Thankyou!

I believe the RC church you should check is St. Michael's in Kingstown. On July 8th the National Library of Ireland will be placing all RC parish registers online. Below are the years the records are available. This church would be in the Archdiocese of Dublin.

Hi Kathy, You mention that Simon left his deceased wife in Ireland. It would be useful to know her name and where she is buried, this may give clues to a marriage which possibly would list Simon's Father's name. Have you checked www.irishgenealogy.ie website? The church records on this site may help you, this is a non-fee website run by the Dept of Heritage and they have extensive free records, the civic register section won't help you as your research is before registration began in 1864 but the church records may shed some light. Also www.nli.ie (National Library of Ireland) has Catholic Church Records as Roger mentions above but you would need to know the parish. If they were born in Killiney then it's possible they were baptised in the parish of Ballybrack-Killiney (the biggest parish in the area). Regards, Maria
