Looking for information about a Joseph O Shaughnessy who i think had a printing shop in Dublin, where was it located, and what kind of printing did he do there.

He was married to Connie Russell and they had two sons, one of whom went to South Africa to live.

Both of his sons are now deceased.

Just looking for information for my family tree, he would have been my grandmothers nephew.

  • Scarlett,

Do you have any dates associated with Joseph? Per Irishgenealogy he married Connie in Dublin in 1930. His father was Patrick and he was a laborer at that point.

  • Hi MaryTV

    Sorry for extremely late reply.

Joseph's father Patrick was working on the railroads in the early 1900s, in both the 1901 and 1911 census he is listed as working there anyway, he must have changed careers.

Joseph born 24 March 1905 and died in 1975, i don't have a death certificate for him yet.  He is buried with his wife, in the same grave as his father and aunt Catherine.

The printing shop he ran was somewhere in Abbey Street i think, and he printed tickets for the theatres around town.

    Thank you.

  • Scarlett,

I would suggest you repost with more info. Joseph's (1905-1975) parents were Mary Shea (1872-1910) and Patrick O'Shaughnessy. Including the previously shared info.

Patrick according to the 1901 census was from Kildare as was his mother Allis (Alice) (abt. 1830) who was living with him at the time.

In one tree they identify him as a sign writer.

    Regards- Mary
