Alexander Armstrong my grt grt grand father B abt 1797 not sure where D 1866 Fremantle West Australia, lived in Kingstown Dublin and owned the Angleseas Arms Hotel (Joseph Armstrong D1834 possibly Alexanders dad,built this hotel after selling another named Royal Kingstown Harbour Hotel (Angleseas it is referred to in Dublins history)) which he sold in 1841. many people applied to benefit from estate Joseph Armstrong D 1834 but Alexander got hotel.
Have a lot of references to him and Edward (? brother), in British news Papers.They were obviously well of and often donated money to a school and lying in facility in Dublin Edward was treasurer of the later.After 1841 cant find Alexander till he came to Australia 1853 with a son Joseph Hosford Armstrong B 1837 Dublin. No wife with them. Cant find a grave or headstone for Jane Armstrong Nee Hosford his wife.
Jane was born in Bandon Cork so maybe they sold hotel if and when she died ?? 1839 Dublin.Went to in laws area, as Joseph was only abt 4yrs. As a notice in Australia in paper written by Joseph B1837s daug said my late father of Cork Ireland. Ship left from Cork.
