  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Records for the parish of Addergoole and Liskeevey (Milltown) begin in 1858 for baptisms and 1821 for marriages so that is as far back as parish records can take you in terms of Mark himself. Despite the 1856 year of birth you have listed, I couldn't find a baptism for him or any siblings. Can I ask where you got the above info?

Neither could I find a marriage record for ether parents in Co. Galway.

The old baptismal font from the church is located in the heritage park in Milltown. When I am next passing during the week I will take a photo of it and sent on to you.

    Best wishes

  • Hi, I have just found this message board for Addergoole parish Co Galway.  I am a direct decendant of Patrick Degnan/Duignan and Ellen Halliday.  They are my second great grandparents who lived in Dalgin, near Milltown.  They had five children, Mary, Michael, Mark, Luke and Andrew.  Michael was my great grandfather...he married Margaret (Maggie) Kane/Keane in 1869.  They had eight children of which my grandmother, Margaret, was one.  She married Patrick Meade in 1914. They had five daughters of whch my mother Catherine was one. She was born in 1921 and emigrated to New York in 1939. I am her daughter. I do have more names and dates if you are interested.  I have been to Dalgin the last time in 2018. I hope you see this.  Kind regards.
