On Saturday August 8th 2015 neighbours and friends of Gardenfield came together to celebrate Mass at the site of the Children's Graveyard.

The unveiling of a stone plaque remembers the children, some 'known only to God' who are buried in the small ringfort in the townland. While some of the names are known, it is believed that hundreds of babies who were still born or died shortly after birth and were not baptised are buried at the site.

It is hoped that this commemoration will become an annual event at the site. Further details about the Project can be provided locally by contacting a member of the Lisheen Committee or Clare Doyle at IrelandXO (cdoyle@irelandxo.com)
