This presentation will present and discuss some of the great riches encountered in our modern living churches as part of the Galway Ecclesiastical Heritage Audit.

The audit of churches in the Connemara, Gort and Loughrea areas have been completed.  Zena Hoctor (Dare Ltd) was commissioned to undertake an audit of the churches of County Galway by the Heritage Office of Galway County Council in conjunction with the various Churches. 

Christy Cunniffe's part of that audit team will discuss some of the many treasures encountered during the audit. Galway has some of the best examples of Celtic Revival stained glass, but also has many other forms of Church Art executed by an array of important artists and sculptors.
