I'm looking for information on Charles O'Neill. He was born in Kildare c.1868. He became a railway signal man and was moved down to the railway station in Mogeely, Co.Cork. He married Hannah Kelleher and they had four kids. He died soemtime before 1911 but is registered in mogeely in the 1901 census. He might of had an uncle called John O'Neill. There is also a connection to Garlands. If anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Megan

  • I think the civil marriage cert for Charles and Hannah would be the next step, as that should help establish father's names occupations etc, if you don't already have that... there's a good probable match on the BMD Index as follows :

    Name : Hannah Kelleher
    Event Type : Marriage
    Quarter and Year : Jul-Sep 1901
    Registration District : Middleton  (Midleton)
    Volume 4 / Page 315

A Charles O'Neill appears with the same references, so a possible cross-match. Midleton district includes Castlemartyr and Mogeela.

If you're not familiar with the process for ordering research certs from the GRO let me know and I'll post further details.

For reference link to Charles in 1901 living in Mogeely townland. His place of birth is given as Co. Dublin...
