Marcus/Mark Lynch, ca. 1832-1869, was a son of Johanna (Butler) Lynch who leased about 87 acres in Ballyelan townland beginning about 1850. The farm was previously leased by Timothy Curtin.
I am not related to the Lynch family but I am related to Mary Collins, widow of Mathew, who sub-leased a tiny plot from Curtin and then from Lynch, and who emigrated to Connecticut in the U.S. about 1857.
I would like to know more about the circumstances of Marcus Lynch's death on 11 March 1869, "of injury to brain, homicidal." The probate index of 1870 (online) indicated that his estate, worth about 500 L(pounds) was awarded to his wife Margaret. They had sons Mark (b. 1858) and Thomas (b. 1859)
Other related Lynches held substantial leases in Dollas townland, and in neighboring Croom townlands.

The following baptisms are for three children of Mark Lynch and Johanna Butler. There were boys born in 1830 and 1832, but neither was called Marcus. Is it possible one of them later went by the name Marcus?
