Hello, I am searching for information on my great, great, grandparents John Madigan and Bridget O'Shaughanessy (?).

John's parents were Thomas Madigan and Catherine Dore. Bridget's parents were John O'Shaunessy and Catherine Fitzgibbons.

John Madigan was born about 1806 and Bridget was born about 1822.

John was first married to Catherine Ryan and they had three children. 

John married secondly, Bridget about 1840 and they then emigrated to Australia on the "Lady Kellaway".

They lived in Tumut, NSW after they came to Australia and had six children.

I would really appreciate it if anyone in this group could help me find out more details of this family.

    According to the subscription site Roots Ireland, John Madigan and Briget married on April 28 1841 in Shanagolden RC parish. One of the witnesses was a James Madigan likely a brother to John. The record indicated that Briget was from Glin.

    I did not find the baptismal records for John Madigan and Bridget O'Shaughnessy using the parents names you provided. Glin records start in 1851 and Shanagolden in 1824 so likely too late for the records of John and Bridget.

    As awild guess to benefit me; do you know if your John Madagan had a sister named Margaret Madagan/Madigan, born about 1801 later marrying a Thomas Costelloe about 1829 and staying in this area of Ireland raising their children.

    I am trying to trace the Costello/Costelloes in this area/Tinnakilla/Shanagolden and Glin, and you show John's parents as Thomas Madigan and Catherine DORE.  The family name of Dore runs heavily through descendants of this Thomas Costelloe family.

    Would appreciate any info on this you might have.  THANKS in advance, dave costello

    Thanks for the information about John and Bridget's marriage. I didn't have the date of their wedding so that will fill in another blank in my family history. 
    Unfortunately I don't know if John had a sister named Margaret but I will keep an eye out for any Costellos if come across.

    I found the Marriage for John Madigan & Catherine Ryan 10 February 1833, 

    I found the Marriage for John Madigan & Bridget O'Shaughnessy, 28 April 1841.
