I'm looking for ANY information at all on my Gt Gt Grandfather Thomas Mulloy born 1849 and his family.  i have ascertained that he was baptised in Burriscarra parish and his father was Patrick and a farmer (this info from marriage certificate).  He would have moved to UK prior to 1876 when he is known to have married my Gt Gt Grandmother.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks Col, I got that one but didn't know about the siblings so that's fantastic.  I'm keen to find any info on his parents too as have got lots of blanks.  Thanks again.

  • I'm a bit confused, I'd found a marriage record for Patrick Mulloy married to a Bridget (Fahy) but that marriage was 1845 so the siblings being born in 1840 and 1842 I don't understand????

  • Ages are frequently shown incorrectly on census and death certificates. So the siblings may have bene born after 1845. Alternatively the 1845 marriage is the wrong one. These are common names and it could be another couple altogether.

  • Claire:

Here is the link to the parish register for Burriscarra http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1048 Records go back to 1839 so I would search the register for your ancestors.
