Greetings.  Does anyone out there have any knowledge of this family?  Phelim had to have been born pre 1830.  Edward maybe 1845ish.  EdwARD married Mary LUNN of Kilmeena area.

Thank you.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the long delay in getting back to you.

I couldn't locate a marriage for Edward and Mary - did they marry in Ireland? One of the obstacles for you is the fact that RC records for the Parish of Burrishoole (Newport) do not begin until 1872. Before this time there will be no records of baptism, marriages or death for anyone in the parish. The only record I could find was a civil death record stating the death of Edward Donnelly in Kiltarnet, Newport he was aged 69 and died on 19-Feb-1897. The informant on the death cert is Liggie Donnelly (probably Lizzie not Liggie!) of Kiltarnet. Edward's cause of death was stated as 'CARDIAC DISEASE 5 YEARS NO MEDICAL ATTENDANT'.

Lizzie was born on 31-Aug-1870 to parents Edward Donnelly (a landholder) and Mary Lunn and had the following siblings:

    William born 20-Apr-1864

    Bridget born 02-Oct-1874

These are he only 2 records I could find on Griffith's Valuation but I can't say if they are relevant as the parishes are on different sides of the county:

Here is a link to a map of parish locations:

If you check registers.nli.ie you should be able to locate, using the info above, the digitized originals of the baptisms.

There are a few entires for a Donnelly family in the 1901 Census at Kiltarnaght

Let me know what you think!
