The surname in Ireland appears to be Rowland.

Baptismal records for Aglish (Castlebar) parish start in 1838 and marriages start in 1824.  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1039

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and the earliest Patrick Rowland baptismal record was in 1849.

Many times immigrants indicated that they were from the nearest "big town" such as Castlebar even though they were from a different RC parish. So I'm wondering if the marriage and baptisms were in a nearby parish to Aglish/Castlebar and that parish has records starting later which would explain not finding a Patrick Roulan/Rowland baptism. For example, Turlough records start in 1847, Islandeady 1839 and Addergoole 1840.

    Have you considered DNA testing?
