I have traced my great grandfathers birth to Gladree? Mayo

His name was Michael Reilly and he was born 28/9/1877 in Gladree, his parents were John Reilly and Mary (McIntyre) Reilly.

How do I view his birth record or any family records for the full family, births marriages etc and trace how he and when his parents came to Scotland etc and if they are buried in Gladree? thanks

abanks

Yes, Gladree is in Kilmore civil parish. Gladree is about eight kilometers northwest of Belmullet. There are two RC parishes in the civil parish. One is Belmullet and the other is Kilmore Erris. Records for both parishes end in 1880. You may want to scan the registers to look for Michael's baptismal record and possibly records for siblings. Not sure which parish the records would be listed. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0742   http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0752

I did look at the 1901 census for Gladree and there was a 64 year old Mary Reilly a widow with two children (William and Kate). Not sure if this is the mother of Michael. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/Binghamstown_Nort…

This Mary was also there in the 1911 census living with her married son William.

    Thanks!
