I have been searching for years for the father of my husband's grt grandfather, William, from Westport. On his wedding certificate, he gave his father's name as Timothy, which I have only recently realised is another name for Thaddeus. I have found a Thaddeus Cleary in the Griffiths valuation on Tobber hill in Westport & a death registration for 1873, when he lived on Peter Street.
William was born in 1844 & someone off this group kindly told me some years ago that the baptism records only go from 1845. The question I have is, are there any searchable marriage records for the 1830s-1844. I am going crosseyed looking at the NLI microfilms!
By the way, we visited Westport in June- what a lovely place- we relly enjoyed our stay there. We stayed on the campsite of Westport House.

Here's a link to the register showing Honor Cleary's death. She was widow of Thaddeus and lived on Tubberhill.
