My grandfather, Michael Joseph Murray, was born in Navan in 1895 to James and Janey Murray née Lyness. He left Ireland for England sometime between 1916 and 1920. His son, my father, and family emigrated to Australia in 1965. 
This coming October I will be visiting Navan and surrounding areas to see if I can find more information on my ancestors there. I’d appreciate any tips on where to find resources that might help. 😊🇦🇺🇮🇪

  • In the 1901 Irish census, Michael and his family lived on Watergate St. in Navan. His father was a butcher.  See here:
