I am trying to find information on my great great grandfather James Dromey. He married Sarah Duke on October 8, 1843 in County Cork. They emmigrated to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada in 1849. The spelling of the name was changed once in Canada to Drummie. It is very possible that James had a previous wife before Sarah and perhaps she died after giving birth to one or two children (Timothy and Ellen).
I have located a James Drummey babtised in November 1800 in Silvergrove, County Clare, Ireland. He is the son of Tho (Thomas?) Drummey and Julia Mcarthy and was sponsored by James Drummey and Mary Mahoney (perhaps the parents of Tho?)
I am trying to determine if James Drummey from Silvergrove is the same James Dromey as the one who married Sarah Duke in 1843. If they are not one in the same I am trying to locate the 1843 James Dromey, who ulitmately became James Drummie, my great great grandfather. Thanks.

Hi Blair, looking at old queries and I can see the marriage but James parents are not listed and there are a number of baptisms for a James in Cork, you can view them free on this site https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ click on church and search under location Cork, and there are many records including the marriage, sign in is required but the site is free, judging by the amount of Dromney I think he must be from Cork, it is a very unusual name,
Interestingly to me at least is McLysaghts surnames of Ireland says it is a variant of the naem Drum or Drumm for Kinawaley on the Cavan / Fermanagh border and a branch migrated to Cork (about 200 miles) and became Drummy etc says the name is from the Gaelic Drom meaning ridge.
