Searching for Christopher Mooney and family who lived in Rathdrum, Ballycommon, Offaly in 1864. On his daughter's marriage record he is listed as "Blacksmith". Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Can you provide additional information? There were no Mooneys listed in the 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Ballycommon civil parish. There were no Monney records in Rathdrum in the 1901 census.

The only Christopher Monney record  was in Eglish civil parosh which is a good distance from Kilcommon. Do you know when Christopher Mooney married, his wife's name, children. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply, Roger.

The only information I have on Christopher Mooney is what I found on his daughter Elizabeth/Lizzy/Bessy's Marriage Certificate (which took place in Philipstown in 1864). On the Civil record, only the father's name, occupation (Blacksmith) and place of residence (Rathdrum) is mentioned. According to the marriage certificate and Census record, Elizabeth was born in 1845/46. I have searched the Tullamore and Daingean (Philipstown) Baptismal Records but have had no luck regarding her. Tullamore is missing these years so her parents might have been married there (late 1830s/early1840s)  and Elizabeth might have been baptised there but, without proof, I can't be certain.
