Have you visited Ardcarne graveyard and gone through the local parish records? 

Are you looking mainly to find the site of the homestead and also the burial grounds of Henry Snr and Frances Halliday King?

Many thanks for your response and I would be thrilled with any guidance you could provide.

On the 1901 census my great grandparents Henry and Frances King were living in house No. 8, Rockingham, Erronagh, Boyle (see attached) and I would love to know where the property was or see if any ruins of it remain.

My other wish is to locate where Henry and Frances King are buried.  I did visit Ardcarne many years ago but no grave for them was listed on the site map outside the church.  Henry died at Erronagh on 10 Jan 1903.  His son from his first marriage John Andrew King also died at Erronagh when he was only in his 20's - this was on 23 Dec 1883 - I presume he is also buried somewhere in the vicinity.  After Henry died, my great grandmother went to stay with her son Henry Kings Jnr. who was stationed in Manorhamilton RIC barracks - Frances died there on 24 Sep 1919 - I am not sure if her remains were buried with her husband and stepson.  I was presuming they were all buried in Ardcarne as when my own grandparents Agnes King (daughter of Henry and Frances) and Johnston Morrison were married on 18 Apr 1889 it was in Ardcarne church and my grandmother was presented with a family bible by the rector for her contribution to the choir there (see attached inscription from fly leaf of bible) - this would lead me to believe this was the church the family would have attended. 

When Henry King and Frances Halliday were married on 15 Nov 1866 (see attached marriage record) Henry's address was Keadur parish of Kilronan.  Henry was a police constable originally from Co. Tyrone so this address was obviously the address of where he was stationed, is the barrack still standing?  Frances was a teacher originally from Co. Down and her address was given as Castlerea parish of Kilkeevin, obviously where she was teaching - wonder if any documentation about the Kilkeevin school still exists?

Incidentally when my grandfather Johnston Morrison married Henry and Frances' daughter Agnes in 1889, he was a police constable stationed in Knockvicar, Boyle.  I have visited and met the lovely couple who now reside in the former barracks there.

So we have been doing some further investigating on your behalf and come up with the following:

Firstly, all graveyard/parish records are now managed by the National Archive of Ireland, follow this link for more information http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/introduction-to-genealogy/ . Please keep in mind that the Ardcarne Graveyard is Church of Ireland and not Catholic.

Secondly, we think we have found the house. We spoke to a local gentleman whose family once lived in No. 6 his name is Pierce Carty and he is more than happy to speak with you, he has two contact numbers; 087 0922357 and 087 1713108. Please see attached a photo of the house we 95% believe to be No. 8. The house is a Gate Lodge to the stunning and historic Lough Key Park. It is now privately owned by the family who run Forest Park House, Helen Lavin is the owner and her mother is currently living in the Gate Lodge.
