Visiting Strokestown and Fourmilehouse area this summer, Aug. 4-5. Would love to connect with anyone familiar with the Higgins Brennan Carroll Logan families; I understand a home at this location is still owned by the Brennan's: ( 53°44'10.2"N 8°09'01.1"W ; https://goo.gl/maps/CfjoYrY7n46qADQB9 )

I'd appreciate any info. that helps me connect my tree with others from the area.

My great grandparents Thomas J. Higgins and Anna Logan apparently met (Thomas living in Cloonera townland and Anna in adjacent Curry townland) and then emigrated from Co. Roscommon to Washington State, USA sometime between 1901 and 1907.

I believe Peter and Catherine are both buried in Lisonuffy Cemetery.

Note: I'd appreciate help finding Anna Logan's parents. I show her as living in Curry townland in 1901 Census of Ireland, age 19; states 'Niece' of head of family Bridget Logan (source: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Roscommon/Cloonfinloug… )

If you have not done so already, could you complete this form regarding your trip to Ireland? Thanks! https://www.irelandxo.com/meet-and-greet

My guess is that Anne was the granddaughter of Bridget rather than her niece. I did not find a good lead on a baptismal record or a civil birth record for an Anne Logan in Co. Roscommon around 1881.

I went back to the 1855 Griffiths Valuation and found a Thomas Logan in Curry so likely he was the husband of Bridget. I could not find a marriage record or any baptismal records for children.
