Hello,

We are hoping to visit Kilbride parish from England this summer or early next year. I am desperate to see where my grandma's family lived and we are hoping to locate my great x3 grandparents burial places, Petri (Peter) Hevican born 1785 passing in 1861, and Maria Hevican (Born McDermott) c1800. Any advice on good places to stay close to Kilbride parish during our visit would be very much appreciated. And any tips to find my families burial places would also be extremely helpful.

Kind regards,

Mark & Jazz Greenhalgh

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

We do not have a parish liaison in Kilbride parish. Here is a link to the RC parish info. I would e-mail the parish office and see what they can tell you about the old cemeteries in the area.  The church is St. Brigid's.

There is also this general site on Co. Roscommon graveyards  http://www.roscommoncoco.ie/en/Services/Heritage/Publications/Co_Roscom…

There are sites online such Find a Grave and Historicgraves  which have info on Co. Roscommon burials but someone who died in 1861 may not have a visible marker.

We have stayed at the Percy French Hotel in Strokestown so you may want to check them out.  https://www.thepercyfrenchhotel.com/
