I'm hoping there will be an oldtimer that will know the Davey family. I lost touch with a friend, Maura Davey, in the 1970s. She had lived in the USA (New Jersey) for some few years. To the best of my knowledge, she moved back to Ireland to care for her mother. I think there was a farm. The address I had for her was her name, Ballymote, County Sligo, Ireland. I know this was a long time ago and if she married, her name may have changed. My interest is only as an old friend looking to make contact again and share life stories. I am hoping to find her and hoping to find her well.

The Irish phone book www.118.ie/ has 21 Daveys in Sligo (People Search) including some M's.
Perhaps you could try a mail out to them if you don't get any responses on the site.

Thank you Col. I do not wish to go to extraordinary trouble or bothering many people. I think it more than likely her name has changed, but I suppose if one of them was family, they might know. I was really hoping to find someone here approximately my age that might recognize her name from the 1960s and 1970s. Are there available marriage records where I might find a record?

We have had success from people writing to those of the surname they are seeking but I understand your retiscence.
For the marriage records you could try the GRO website (Govt Records Office)
There are quite a few MARY Davey Sligo marriage records 1950-58) on Family Search but they don't give the husband's name as far as I can tell!
No luck on findmypast.ie/ or ancestry.com
