I am trying to find more info on my grandfathers parents. His Mother, Mary Hanoria( or Honoria) Sheeran was born May 14th 1895 in Cross, Drumrat, County Sligo. Her parents were Peter and Hanoria(Honoria) Sheeran. She had 8 brothers and sisters. One must have died young or at birth and have no name or info on that. The siblings are:

Bridget Agnus 17

Mary Hanoria 15 (great grandmother)

Patrick Michael 14

Owen Frances 13

Cathrine Margarat 11

John James 9

Annie Jane 8

Sebina T. 6

(Age based on 1911 Census)

If anyone has any info i would greatly appriciate it.

Thanks,

Mike Dyer

  • Hello Mike

Very sory for the delay in answering. I do not have specific informaiotn on the above peope - but I am looking. I think Iran across the name in the 1901 or 1911 IR Census. I do have a photo from Knockbrack Cemetery with the name of Henry Sheeran and his wife Eileen on it that I took in March. From Carrowreagh Townland.

I can't seem to get a size reduction going to attach - so here is the info on the grave stone:

    In Loving Memory

    of

    Henry Sheeran

    Carrowreagh

    Died Jan 29. 1967

His wife Eileen died April 18, 1982

their son Harry died July 10, 2009

Both Cross and Carrowreagh townlands are in Toomour Parish - Cross to the north of Keash Church, the other below and right near the ancient church of Toomour.  As I get further into my records [I'm in the middle of sorting my house for a move and hence a wee bit of a confusion here]

I know there are a lot of Dyer and Dwyer folks in the area - do you know any of them?

    Steve
