Hello. I am looking for any info on Flynns of Cuilmore and Cloonsillagh, Sligo; and Carberrys of Cloonsillagh, Sligo. Michael Flynn (born abt 1851 birthplace somewhere in Sligo, family lived Cuilmore 1870s), married Catherine Carberry (born abt 1851 birthplace unknown, but her family lived Cloonsillagh 1870s). They married Gurteen RC church FEB1879. Both their fathers are listed on marriage record as deceased by 1879: James Flynn & Patrick Carberry. No mention of mothers names. Had 2 daughters: 1st was 'Beesy' Flynn bapt 30JAN1880 in Gurteen RC church (later known as Agnes, my G-grandmother, legal birthname could have been Bridget Agnes). 2nd daughter Anne Frances Flynn bapt in 1884 Gurteen RC church. Catherine (nee Carberry) Flynn SEPT1888 died of hemmorage in childbirth of 3rd child (dont know if boy or girl, dont know if child lived). Michael Flynn was in 1901 Ireland Census in Cloonsillagh, as head of household but no other family listed that day, but cant find him after that. Dont know when he died or where. Both daughters had left for U.S.A. by 1905, but couldnt find them in 1901 census. They werent with their father Michael in 1901, or as other relatives or servants of anyone else in Sligo, Roscommon, Leitrim for 1901. Pretty sure that Catherine Carberry had previous marriage to her 3rd cousin, John Carberry (born 1845-died 1874). They married Gurteen RC church JUNE1871. Had 2 daughters: Mary born 1872, and Catherine born 1874. No records of where these girls ended up either. There are literally NO family trees for my Michael Flynn or Catherine Carberry Flynn. Anyone with any info to help fill in big blanks, please respond. Thank you.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Unfortunately, the baptismal records for Gurteen/Kilfree parish do not start until 1873 although marriages start in 1844. See link to parish register below. The 1858 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilfree civil parish is also below and shows James Flynn in Cuilmore and Patrick Carberry in Cloonsillagh. I looked at the 1901 census and did find an Anne Flynne working as a servant for a Robert Powell. in another townland (see below) This Anne was listed as 18 but she may have made herself a little older. I also located a civil death index record for a Patrick Carberry in 1864 (see below) Kilfree parish is in the Boyle registration district.
