Edmund Walsh, son of John Walsh and Mary Gleeson, was born Roman Catholic in Cooga, in Upperchurch parish, in Tipperary, in Ireland, in about 1862.  Mary Gleeson was baptized 11 Nov 1839, Sts. Peter & Pauls RC Church, Clonmel
His siblings were Patrick, born about 1860; Margaret, born about 13 Feb 1865; Winifred, born about Nov 1869; Mary, born about Nov 1872
He married Elizabeth Phillips in Ireland about 25 Jan 1885. Sts Pater & Pauls RC church, Clonmel
They had Mary Helen Walsh in 15 Aug 1885, Elizabeth Walsh in 21 Mar 1887, John Edward Walsh in 14 Aug 1888, William Arthur Walsh in 20 May 1890
He died about 10 Aug 1890 in Woodroofe Estate, Clonmel, Tipperary

Edmund and Elizabeth were employed as Groom and Cook at Woodroofe Estate.  When Edmund died im 1890, Elizabeth had 4 children under 5yrs.  In 1895, sons Edward and William were arrested in Clonmel for begging and sent to Cappoquin, later to Ferryhouse. Mother, Elizabeth emigrated to US around 1897.  Elizabeth and children "disappear" between 1890 and 1900 except for the boys arrest and her emigration.  I cannot find them in Poor Law records nor can I find the daughters in any convent records.  I supect they were staying with Edmunds relatives in Clonmel - likely the Gleeson family, but Mary's parents and some siblings had emigrated to Yorkshire around 1861.  Can anyone help find records of who they might have been staying with?
