Hello, I am hoping someone might be able to help me find the marriage record for my 3rd great grandparents, Catherine “Kate” Conlon & James Smyth/Smith. I've tried several sources and haven't been able to find it. I’m hoping it might confirm who Catherine’s parents were (I have a couple of possibilities).

Catherine & James’s first child Jane Smyth was baptized 17 Jan 1863 in Kilkenny West, so I assume they were married around 1861 or 1862. Their second daughter Mary Smyth was born 5 Oct 1864 in Tubberclair and baptized 8 Oct 1864 in Glassan.

Thank you in advance! Dawn

I searched on two subscription sites- Roots Ireland and FindMyPast.ie and did not find the marriage record. The NLI site does not have a marriage records for the two parishes for the year in Question. According to the Roots Ireland index, they do have marriage records for these two parishes in their data base.

Maybe the priest failed to record the marriage on the parish register or maybe they married outside of Ireland. Parents names would not normally be shown on a pre-1864 church marriage record.
