Hi there,
My grandfather, Daniel Joseph Davitt, was born in Castlepollard, West Meath. I'm told that the Civil Parish is Rathgarve. His parents were Anne Thornton and Daniel (Joseph?) Davitt. His parents were Michael Davitt and Brigid Finnegan. Just curious if there are still any relatives in the area there.

The civil parish is Rathgrave. The last link below is the online Irish phone book which is a partial list of phone users. Search Davitt in Co. Westmeath and use the Residential TAB. I see one listing in Castlepollard so you may want to send that person a letter. You may have the following documents but I share in case you do not. Civil birth record for Daniel. 1901 and 1911 census records. The family fluctuated between Devitt and Davitt. 1895 marriage record for Daniel and Anne.
