Francis (Frank) Cahill was born circa 1882 and died 19 October 1957). Francis was an Irish Nationalist, teacher and politician. He was heavily involved with the Gaelic League and the Irish Republican Brotherhood. He taught for 50 years in St Lawerence O'Toole CBS in Seville Place Dublin.

He was a close friend of Arthur Griffith and Sean O'Casey as well as some of the leaders of the rising (Tom Clarke and Sean Mac Diarmada). He set up the Primary Schools League GAA i 1928.
