Williamstown Martello Tower

Williamstown Martello Tower was built in the early 1800s and was originally on the coast, it later (c1835) became landlocked as a result of the construction of the Dublin to Kingstown Railway.

The land between the railway and old coast gradually raised, and now the lower parts of the tower are hidden below the new ground level.
