Bridget Purcell Tygue was the daughter of Martin Purcell and Anna Scahill/Skall. She was born in Cloonbanaun Townland, Parish of Shrule, County Mayo. There is no marriage record for Bridget Purcell and Michael Tigue, ca about 1826 because her first son Michael was born in 1827. There are baptismal records for 3 childen in the parish of Shrule Bridget had 5 children who grew to adulthood. Michael - 1827, Anna - 1831, Catherine - 1833, Bridget - 1835 and Patrick - 1838. The family came to America about 1847. The family is not found in the 1850 US Census.
