Hi All

I am trying to trace my 4x great grandmother born Ireland circa 1792 Eleanor Glennon,( married Name )

Her Daughter Ann Glennon was born circa 1820 dulin, She Married Martin Monaghan born 1818 Ireland dont know where in Ireland .Martin is listed as being born 1814 and 1818 on census returns.

They moved to England and I have them all on censue records from 1851. but I have no more information on them from Ireland

  • The person to start with is the most recent, Anne.. does the reference of 'Dublin' for her place of birth come from an English census or some other source ?

    'Dublin' can mean the city, suburbs or county, so covers quite a few parishes, and not all have records back as far as the 1820s. 

     

    p.s. do you know where Ann married Martin - have you found a record for that ?

  • I think I can see the family on the 1851 English census in Alnwick, Northumberland - is that the correct family ? According to the census Martin and Ann's two children are both born in Alnwick, so I think they could have married there. If so a marriage cert would give you father's names and occupation to help the search back in time..

    Yeah that is them from the census in 1851 Alniwick,

    I can find no marraige cert for Martin and Ann , but I have their daughter ann's ( born 1849 )

    my 2x grandmother's marriage ( Labourer stated  for Martin )

    I think it may take a trip to Alniwick to see the baptism records ,
