Hello I am looking to locate my 4th great grandmother Elizabeth Cunningham born Ireland in 1784. Her parents were Timothy and Catherine Cunningham who I assume also come from Ireland. Elizabeth married Nathaniel Newman in Kettering Northamptonshire England and is on the 1841 census, however she died in 1850 so I have been unable to find out where in Ireland she comes from. If you can match this family to your tree I would live to hear from you. Thanks in advance Sarah

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Cunningham is the mid-19th century was a very common surname in Ireland and found in almost every county. Very few RC parishes have records back to 1784 so it is unlikely that a baptismal record exists.

You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing. Possibly you will match someone who has Cunningham connections and more information on the origins of your family in Ireland.
