Looking for information on my greatgrandmother, Julia Bridget McKenna, born in 1871 or 1872. Daughter of Patrick J. McKenna and Bridget McKenna probably of Ullid. Her aunt and uncle were Michael McKenna wife Johanna Brothers or Brawders. cousin to Mary Agnes McKenna, 1877. Julia Bridget left Ireland in 1891 or 1892 and came to boston, meeting up with her cousin Mary Agnes who arrived in 1895. Any information would be appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located a transcription of the 1877 baptismal record for Mary the cousin which is below. The baptism was in Mooncoin RC parish to the southwest of Ullid.

I was unable to find a baptismal or civil birth record for Julia Bridget using a fathers name of Pat. The only female records were for an Anastasia and Catherine.I also checked on www.irishgenalogy.ie

    Any other clues? Siblings?

  • It is possible that they really were not related. Letters from a daughter of Mary Agnes to my grandfather call my great grandmother " Aunt" but I really don't know more than that. I was able to find information about Michael and Johanna too but nothing to tell me Patrick and Michael are brothers. Some of the US census information I was able to find on Julia Bridget say Ireland and others say Northern Ireland so it is a puzzle. I found a Bridget married to a Patrick in dublin about the right age to be Julia's parents. I'm going to search for more information about them and maybe I'll be lucky. Thank you for replying to my original post. Terri
