I should be grateful for any information on Thomas Mulcare born in the parish of Cashel, County Tipperary, circa 1809. He was attested for the 87th Regiment of Foot (Royal Irish Fusileers) on 28 November 1827 at Limerick, aged 18, and served 21 years and 38 days, of which 12 years and 96 days were spent in Mauritius. His final description on release from the Army on 26 June 1849 was 39 years 7 months, five feet six and a half inches tall, hair dark brown, eyes grey, compexion sallow and a labourer by trade. In 1846, the regiment was based in Perth, and Stirling, Scotland, and Thomas was married on 20 July 1846 in Perth, to Elizabeth Lennox, daughter of stonemason William and Elizabeth Lennox, Craigie, Perth. Thomas died at Upper Craigie, Perth on 10 June 1873 aged 64, although his death certificate states 71. His children were:
Son (Name unknown) died in infancy, William Lennox Mulcare 1850, Elizabeth Lennox Mulcare, Jane Ann Mulcare 1855, James Mulcare 1857, Thomas Mulcare 1859 and Lilius Lennox Mulcare 1861.
