  • probaly the best match is this one living with his parents and brothers in Co. Antrim - see : Service family Ballyclare - 1901

Samuel seems to be listed as a servant on the 1911 return - see : Stevenson/Service household - 1911

Do you have parents names for your Samuel e.g. from his marriage or death cert ?

  • Samuel's birth is on the index of the GRONI system :

    Name : Samuel Service
    Date of Birth : 20th July 1895
    Mother's Maiden Surname : Beggs
    Registration District : Ballymena

The view the full transcript or an image requires credits, and will show a more detailed place of birth, parents full names etc.

Searching under parents surnames also show his brother William's birth as 2nd July 1893, an unnamed child 24th February 1896 (not named at registration, but prob. James). The parents marriage, also Ballymena district is listed as 1st March 1893 (note William is listed as 'Wm'). The image or transcript would show more details, including places of residence for the bride and groom, their father's names, occupations etc

  • Samuel appears on the 1921 Canadian census with his wife Ethel in South Cariboo, British Columbia. According to the details on the form he arrived in Canada in 1912, and his wife Ethel also Irish born, arrived 1906.
