Seeking information on Peter McGuire

I assume you have Peter's father's name

If so, there are 9 McGuires in Kildare in Griffiths Valuation (free online) so you could find where they lived at that time (1851)

Can you give any further information?  Do you have your Grandparents marriage cert?  This might give thier parents names.  Also, can you say when and where your grandfather emigrated to?  Just a few details would help to identify him.  Names of his siblings would be really usefull to.

Hello Linda, thankyou so much for replying. I have the following info, hope is is of help to you.

My grandfathers (Peter McGuire) fathers name was Michael McGuire, born 1829 in Williamstorome, Kildare. I can't find Willamstrome ( I assume this is a spelling mistake) but I see there is a Williamstown which is not far from Carbury, so I assume that is possibly where he was born. Michael was married to Ellen Kennedy around 1851 she was born 15 October 1828 in Ballanhg (again this appears to be a spelling mistake) Kildare.

Michael's parents were Patrick McGuire and Bridget Graham, unfortunately I have nothing more on them. Michael appears to have had a brother John (Jack) McGuire who married Anna Kane and had a daughter, Ellen Maguire ( different spelling, but I am told it is our family) born 4 April 1871 who became Sister Ignatia and died 25 Dec 1956. 

MIchael and Ellens children ( grandad's brothers and sisters) are ;

Ellen McGuire born around 1854 and married James Joseph O'Brien in 1874

Bridget (Biddy) McGuire born 15 Jan 1856 in Carbury, married Arthur McCusker 28 March 1883

John (Jack) McGuire born 1861

Michael McGuire born 1863

James McGuire born 12 Dec 1864 Carbury

Mary McGuire born 1874.  Grandad, Peter McGuire was born 7 March 1867 in Carbury.
