my grandpas family came from letterkenny in the very early 1900s to clydebank to work in the shipyards his fathers name was edward who was married to sarah  dont know her maiden name and my grandpa was called daniel brannock they had another son hugh and sarah died shortly after he was born as far as we know the two boys were placed with a couple in castle douglas and edward returned home to letterkenny we dont know if he remarried  and had other kids any information thrown on this would be very welcome thanks in advance sheila mcluskie

  • There?s a marriage between Edward Brannock and Margaret M?Glynn registered in Letterkenny July ? Sept 1901 Vol 2, page 138. That could be your gt grandfather.

    I can?t see Hugh or Daniel?s births though. Nor can I see Edward in the 1901 or 1911 censuses. Nor can I see a first marriage for Edward.

    If Sarah died in Scotland, then her death certificate should tell you her maiden name.(It should be on the Scotlandspeople site).
