Fletcher Ancestors

So sorry, but I don't know any Fletcher's ancestors. I have Fletcher cousins  here in Oz  so I can't  help you.

The only record of your Fletchers I could find on www.rootsireland.ie/ (a subscription site) was a baptism for Thomas:

Thomas Fletcher Date of Birth: Date of Baptism: 01-Jan-1811 Address: Parish/District: TULLAMORE Gender: Male County Co. Offaly Denomination: Church Of Ireland"

Father: Joseph Fletcher Mother: Sarah Higgins

If you think this is your Thomas (it was the only Offaly listing) I can check for the marriage of his parents.

We could also check the Tithe Applotments, Griffiths Valuation and the Irish Censuses (all free online) for them.

Hi Col,

Would it make sense to look for the marriage of Thomas Fletcher to Dorah Jordan? Alfred was born about 1833 or 1836, so the marriage should have been prior to that. If this is the right Thomas, I would like to find out when he died. His wife and children came to America in 1851 without him and I cannot find him in America.

I would also like any info on his parents and other family as well.

I realise I have been looking for Offaly rather than Laois records so have re-tried but still found nothing I'm afraid!
I couldn't find a death record for Thomas or the marriage record you suggested.
The Tithe Applotments have 2 Thomas Fletchers in Ardea, Queens in 1825.
Interestingly there is a Dorah Fletcher in Griffiths Valuation in Queens listed as a tennant also in ARDEA:

I am tracking the family of Joseph Fletcher and Sarah Higgins  

i have sarah higgins born 21 Sept 1821 as her parents ? would like confirmation on that and any other info on this family  that i can find out 

i bought a 1714 bible from a faimily member and would like to make a tree to go with the bible it is in very rough shape  looks like it has been through a fire and cover is burned  back cover and pages are ripped but the history is amazing to track it back to sarah fletcher  and connected to the person i bought it from wow  

Please any help at all would be apprciated going backward and forward and if any one knows about this bible would love to add  the tree
