Just trying to connect with my Grandmother's family if any are still in Ballina.

Her name was Nellie Granahan born August 15,1900 to Bridget and Patrick

She was one of many brothers and sisters, some were Agnes, Mary, Patrick, John, and Michael and I think several more.

She immigrated to America in 1920 to join her older brothers, Michael and Patrick who had settled outside of Philadelphia.

I finally travelled to Ballina in September of 2015 and went to the church across the river and met a Sister in the church store who said she was of the Granahan clan which I am from as opposed to the other Granahans spelled with two g's.

I wrote her name and address and phone number down and somehow lost it. Was not in my bags when I returned home.

If anyone knows this Sister  please share this with her or share her name and address with me so that I may contact her again.

Thank you all so very much!

Eileen

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

We do not have a parish liaison in Ballina that I can locate. I did find a link to the church in Ballina and you may want to e-mail the office. I assume they would know the sister. Likely, they would not be able to provide her contact info but could pass on your e-mail address. http://cashel-emly.ie/our-diocese/parishes/a-d/ballina-boher/

I tried to find your family in the 1901 census but could not locate them. Do you have the townland? I also could not find Nellie's civil birth record.
